HIGH SELLING LOTS:
The 10th Annual Minnesota
Gelbvieh Association State Opportunity Sale was a tremendous
success. The sale was held at the Central Livestock Auction
facility in Albany, MN and attracted a large crowd of enthusiastic
buyers from Minnesota, North Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
Lot 30 was
the high selling bull of the day at $2,500. PHG Thor T60 is a PB son
out of PHG Fighting Irish N07. This magnificent bull has great numbers
and was consigned by Prairie Hills Gelbvieh, Gladstone, ND. He is black, double
polled, and was purchased by Ralph Privratsky from Dickinson, ND.
Lot 35 is a PB bull out JRI Heavy Equipment. This moderate
frame, thick, deep ribbed bull comes with a great disposition. RCKG
Heavy Prospect was consigned by Ray Kathrein/Dean Swenson from
Little Falls, MN and sold to Richard Sannes from Fertile, MN
for $2,200.
Olek Gelbvieh consigned the high selling open heifer of the day.
Lot
10, Polly, is a PB daughter out King of the Hill, who has sired
tremendous daughters in the Gelbvieh breed. This eye catching
heifer comes from a tremendous milking cow family. She
sold for $2500 to Scott Mattison from Lamberton, MN.
Tied for second place in open heifers were lots 13 and 16. Lot
13 is consigned by Hilltop Farm, Poynette, WI. WTSH Hilltops
Tempest ET is a red double polled PB heifer sired by Spur Beretta. She
was purchased by Donald Vogl from Walnut Grove, MN for $2,100. She
is sure to be an outstanding addition to his herd.
Lot 16 consigned by Sauer’s Valley View Farms is double
black and homozygous polled. SVVG Scarlet is a PB heifer
sired by XXB Big N’ Rich, the 2006 Futurity champion. This
beautiful heifer was purchased by Kevin Stanoch from St. Joseph,
MN for $2,100.
The sole bred heifer consigned by Sauer’s Valley View Farms
sold for $1,950. SVVG Madisen is a double black double
polled PB heifer with an outstanding disposition. She was
purchased by Brian Olek from Felton, MN.
